Why would anyone want/need to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior?
Simply because the Bible states that every one of us is a sinner…
And it is because of this… because we are sinners that we are all basically “screwed”.
What do I mean by screwed? Simply this. If we do not invite Jesus Christ into our heart to be our Lord & Savior… when we die, we are going to be SEPARATED FROM GOD FORALL ETERNITY.
I Call Being “Screwed”
But hey, it’s merely one person’s opinion… so cut me a little slack here.
Anyway, what I’ve just shared with you… is there any truth to it?
Let’s see what the Bible has to say…
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to spend eternity separated from God! I don’t care if it means being buried in the ground… being in a place where you are unconscious (where everything is a total void) or whether it’s hell… a place of fiery torment… where people are weeping, wailing and gnashing their teeth.
I don’t want to be separated from God… PERIOD!
Okay, now listen to me.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came to earth… lived a sinless life… and then died on the cross on Calvary to pay the penalty for our sins. His sacrificial death, the shedding of his blood, is what cleanses us of all our sin.
Salvation Is A Free Gift
All you have to do is have FAITH in him… and accept him as your Lord & Savior. It’s true… it is by your faith alone in him that you are saved. Salvation has nothing to do with “good works.”
You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come in to your life to be your Lord & Savior. And… since God and Jesus Christ are both one and the same, the following is a good way to do it. At this very moment, say to God / Jesus…
“Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I am sorry for sinning and I repent. I ask you to forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross and were raised from the dead to save me from my sins. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life. Yes, I give my life to you God. Help me to live my life in a way that pleases you. I love you, God, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you in heaven. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray.”
