The following is merely my opinion about how to contact God. Keep in mind that, like you, I am just a human being. I am NOT infallible. So take this advice for what it’s worth.
Okay, let’s begin with the Christians…
For Christians: The next time you want to get in contact with God Almighty, simply say aloud (or to yourself) something along the lines of…
“Hello… God… It’s Me _____________.
If You Don’t Mind, I’d Like To Talk To You For A Few Moments.
Would That Be Alright? Okay, Here Goes…”
You then proceed to speak in a “conversational” manner, just like you would do if you were talking to your best friend. That’s right… just start chatting with him. Voice your problems, concerns or… whatever it is that you feel like talking about. It’s not necessary to recite formal prayers when talking to God. All you have to do is open up your heart and start speaking. You can say anything you want to him… yes… A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G! (As long as you say it with respect.)
Once you’re finished with your “prayer”, I encourage you to do the following, as it will please God to no end.
Say to God… “God, I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I am sorry for sinning and I repent. I ask you to forgive me. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross and was raised from the dead to save me from my sins. You/He did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life. Yes, I give my life to you. Help me to live my life in a way that pleases you. I love you, God, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you in heaven. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray.”
What you have just finished reading is what many people refer to as the…
“Prayer of Salvation”
Reciting a prayer… the mere RECITING of a prayer… will that get you into heaven?
Sorry… but… it doesn’t work that way.
Salvation comes through FAITH… not by merely reciting words.
I am going to cover the topic of “salvation” at great length in the “Letters To Joshua” section of this website.
I encourage you to check it out.
For right now though, we need to sally forth and tend to our good friends, the Muslims. Jews, Hindus and Buddhists.
For Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims or Jews: After doing some serious research, I came to the following conclusion: Because your religions are so different (One doesn’t believe in any God. Another believes in 33,000,000 Gods. Another refers to God as Allah. And the other believes in God, but not Jesus Christ as the Messiah.) I’ve put together a way for you to contact “Whoever’s in charge of the universe” the best I could.
I had to make it a “blanket statement” because, if I hadn’t done so, instead of me writing 7-8 paragraphs here, I would have ended up writing about 500 pages… or more (especially for the religion that worships up to 33,000,000 different Gods).
With that being said, the following is a good, solid way to contact whomever you believe is in charge of our universe. You start by saying…
“God, Allah, Jehovah, Yahweh, Heavenly Father,
________, or ‘Whoever’s In Charge of The Universe’.
Hello… It’s Me _________. If You Don’t Mind, I’d Like To
Talk To You For A Few Moments.
Would That Be Alright? Okay, Here Goes…”
You then proceed to speak in a “conversational” manner, just like you would do if you were speaking to your best friend. That’s right… just start chatting with him. Voice your problems, concerns or… whatever it is that you feel like talking about. It’s not necessary to recite formal prayers when talking to _______. All you have to do is open up your heart and start speaking. You can say anything you want to him… A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G! (As long as you say it with respect.)
Once you’re finished with your “prayer”, I encourage you to do the following, as it will please ____________ to no end.
Say… “___________, I recently visited a website called www.askjoshua.com and a guy named Joshua says that this is a good way to get in contact with you. Would you let me know if he’s offering me good advice here? Joshua is a Christian, and as you know, I am not. I’ve read some of the “Letters to Joshua” that are on his website, and all of them encourage me to worship Jesus Christ. He claims that Jesus Christ is God and that he created the universe. At this point in my life, I’m not 100% sure what to believe. Would you guide me to the truth? Would you help me to have a crystal-clear understanding of what I should be doing with my life so that I am doing your will? Please help me __________, please help me to know the truth so that I am doing your will… and making this world a better place.
Contacting God, Allah, Jehovah, Yahweh, Heavenly Father, _______________, or “Whoever’s In Charge of The Universe”… believe it or not… that’s really all there is to it.
P.S. If you have already decided that no matter what I say or do… that you are not going to follow Christ… that’s okay by me. God gave us something called “free will” which allows us to make our own choices. And if that’s what you choose to do… well… then… that’s what you choose to do! I’m not going to fight you on it. One thing I’d like to recommend though, is that you read the “Letters To Joshua” section of this website… as it contains great lessons of love and compassion that CAN help make this world a better place for EVERYONE… regardless of one’s religious beliefs.
