My name is Darryl. I’m 15 years old and I watch a lot of YouTube videos. One of the more interesting topics my friends and I’ve been watching videos about these past few months are “Flat Earther” videos.
In case you’re not aware, Flat Earther videos are videos made by people who actually believe that our planet is flat, and that it is not round. They believe that the Earth is not a sphere.
Last week on Easter Sunday, a bunch of relatives who I hadn’t seen in about 8-10 years came to our house. One of them was my older cousin “Crazy Kevin.” Kevin, age 24, entertained our family (and other relatives) for hours, as he presented us with numerous “facts” (as he called them) that he claimed, proves that the Earth is flat.
He made a few good points which none of us could disprove. Anyway, is it possible… could the Earth really be flat? Are my cousin Kevin and his fellow Flat Earther’s truly crazy?

Over 200,000 views from one video about the 2017 California Wildfire being set from a laser beam shot out of a plane to burn a path for a railroad is a drop in the bucket compared to all the hundreds of millions of hits YouTube conspirator videos have.
The facts seem accurate, logical even, but it’s warped according to Jack Cohen, a research scientist who has studied fires in the field and the lab. And, when fact -checking is so overwrought with technical legalese, the average guy chooses to believe the lie! (Suckers!!!) The twisting of the truth sells! It sells confusion and division, but mostly it sells Headlines!

Here’s one that I’m sure you’ve seen, heard, and maybe even Googled! Neil Armstrong was on a Hollywood set when he proclaimed, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind…” as opposed to him actually landing on the Moon. That’s surely what a Flat Earther would declare. Don’t roll your eyes — that is what they believe!
All the footage, images, etc. — from outer space — that clearly show a spherical earth are dismissed as doctored photos or “movie sets”.
